No Reaction/Excuses to Lag-Mat (Right or Wrong?)
So today they released the official results of the July-Mat. No word is lost about lags/problems. Only the usual "grats to rawr". That's it.
Well, I could be wrong, but that's not the kind of Community-Policy that I would expect. I'm aware of the fact that Anet didn't have direct influence on the lags/disconnects, but a reaction (of whichever kind) would be appreciated.
As important GW2 is and as few people play mats (compared to the rest), THAT is not the reaction I had hoped to see. No Reaction whatsoever...
What do you think? Is it ok for them to just move on or what did you expect, if you expected anything. Or do you just do. not. care?
I would suggest you quickly post your responses (keep' em as flame-free as possible) because I have the feeling this thread will not see the next morning.

Ya sure, pretty much no one cares about GW anymore. So it shouldn't be that big of a deal. People really just don't care like they used to about this game. So I don't see the problem really. Though some do care it seems like the majority don't anymore.

It was wrong. I already raged in another thread about this, but Anet should just say that the mAT was ruined and say sorry to all of the teams who practiced and took the time to compete in it.
I never thought I would miss Andrew Patrick so much.

Nothing they could say can make it any less ruined. I hear there's another one next month.

Never really paid much attention to the mATs or predictions on them, but if players are sighting an obvious problem, I don't know why ANet wouldn't react.

Do they think that having upteen 3v3 matches was just random or something? To just completely ignore what happened is incredibly irresponsible on their part and is kind of disgusting when it comes right down to it. I guess it's like a virtual Enron.

There were network problems for days, no response would really be expected from that.
And mAT results turned out pretty normal anyway.

Several guilds missed out on a chance to make it to single eliminations due to people not loading into matches.
As much as I hoped A-net would have done something, this is exactly what I expected them to do.

Are you retarded? Only a handful of slots are nearly predetermined for the mAT: [rawr], [sup], [pre][EW], [dR][/pre], [StS] are the only guilds you can reasonably anticipate for gold or silver. Any other slot is reasonably open for the guilds ranked from 11 to 50. You think that [dV], [mkay] or many other guilds in the mAT having no shot for top 16 because of errors is "normal?" You think that a shit guild like [DyS] for silver trim is "normal"? You think that [qE] or [vE] or several other top 50 guilds are more deserving of silver than other guilds that didn't place due to disconnects?
Simply because the brackets don't look overly unusual for what we might normally expect doesn't mean that they're normal. There are stronger guilds that didn't make the cut because of errors and weaker guilds that made trim because of the errors, and many good players saw the outcome of their qualifying work determined and obliterated by errors.
If I were A-Net I'd almost not say anything because I'd be so ashamed of the pitiful mAT and my ever-extending list of screwups that I wouldn't be able to open my trap about it or bring myself to write anything. The connection issues were nothing short of pathetic, the monthly was pathetic, and their lack of a decent response is beyond pathetic.

About the only response was Regina's cut-and-paste saying the problem only lasted 2 hours. Honestly, I didn't expect that much. I'm personally not mad at Anet, but I know anyone who got screwed in the MAT has every right to be furious.

I know it has no value but I (a PvEr who'd like to PvP...one day) am in full support of my fellow PvPr's! Very sad story and PvP need more support, now. If the mAT is automated, why can't it be replayed?
Grats to rawr!

something i've already posted on another board:
Quote:
There were never any lags, they're just part of your imagination. Arena Net's servers worked properly at the time the Monthly ran; the entire community just suffered from problems with their providers at the same time. Not that Arena Net would have to deal with problems, LOL.
..everything's possible with a little bit of imagination.
IMO, just leave the mAT be. Let's just be honest; who really cares anymore? Some undeserved capes out there, some are left with nothing, people can be happy with their Reward Points, many have had unfair treatment, rawr won as always .. just don't mind it. Just wait for next month again. When there was the problem with the map rotation it wasn't mentioned either -- neither did they try to do something about it.
e end;
It's obvious to notice, the interest in GW1 isn't existant anymore. Why should they care about it anymore anyways? Doesn't get them anymore money.
Most of you guys don't even have to care in relation of GW1, it's just gonna be a factor (along with many others) to keep in mind when you consider buying GW2 ..
But anyways, what do you expect them to say?
"We're sorry for the server troubles we had, there was no way we could possibly resolve this in time. We apologize again."
Would that make you happier? Wouldn't make me happier anyways, same as if they just said nothing. We know the reason behind it happening .. there's nothing that can be done about it. In the end; even if the entire community would like a replay of the mAT .. it won't happen. It's their game afterall, no?
Even when Martin returns, [Info: he's a really nice guy and posts on the german fanboard a lot; he's on vacations for now however and people expect him to leave a statement when he returns because he's one of the last to still care] he can't and most likely won't leave a proper statement but just apologize .. and maybe, just maybe, Izzy is trying his best to "apologize" to the PvP community by trying to fix rawr-ways and VoD gameplay.

Same here. He was our only link to Anet's thoughts on PvP issues...
The lag was annoying, yes, but its over with and we can only hope it doesn't happen next month.
